Living in El Paso
What are the best local coffee shops in El Paso? Skip the chains and try local favorites like Frontera, Cafe Con Leche, Amber's Coffee Bar, 210, and Viejo Coffee, spread across downtown, the east side, and the west side.
We kept it local rather than ranking anyone. Frontera Coffee, Churros, and Beer sits downtown and is known for its colorful churros. Cafe Con Leche, just east of downtown off Wyoming, has a hip, character-filled vibe with a stage and a coffee trailer. Amber's Coffee Bar on the east side is a big, comfortable hangout, while 210 on the west side off Doniphan has a full menu, outdoor seating, and is dog friendly. Viejo Coffee down in Union Plaza near downtown is small with a great outdoor spot, and Coffee Box downtown is a fun runner-up with a second location coming to the far east.
Hi, in this episode we're talking about some of our favorite coffee places in El Paso. Hi thank you so much for checking out the YouTube channel. My name is John Peña, your favorite real estate agent. If you are looking to buy, sell, invest in real estate, please consider reaching out.
And in this episode, we're talking about some of our favorite coffee shops in El Paso. We're keeping it local. Sure we've got Starbucks, we've got Dutch Brothers, we've got all of that. But we really want to showcase local businesses because that's just kind of more what we're
about here. And so we've got five, six that we're going to show you. We're not ranking them. We don't want to get into which one's the best and all of that.
We'll let you guys decide that. The first stop for us is Frontera Coffee, Churros, and Beer. So Frontera is great. It's located downtown, which is a great little location here.
I think they get most of their business probably in the morning from the downtown rush crowd. But what this place is known for are their churros. It is, they are pretty amazing as you're going to see here in a moment. They do have coffee.
They're going to have beer, that's still kind of on hold, but really what you're coming here for are the churros. We did kind of like a little sampler plate of them and they were awesome. They're super colorful.
They've also got breakfast and lunch. They've got tons of different drinks. I did the Cafe Le Churro there for $3.85. Leah did tea.
And so this is a great little local place. And like I said, I know that people really, really love these churros. I mean, look at these things. They were pretty delicious.
Okay, so this place is called Cafe Con Leche. It is kind of centrally located, a little east of downtown off of Wyoming. But this place we really like because one, the coffee is great. They do have some food, not a ton, but this is kind of like more of like a cool like kind
of hangout vibe. They've got like the indoor space. I'm guessing you can bring dogs in here for sure. They've got a stage where I'm guessing they do music or whatever, you know, maybe even
kind of like open mic kind of things. So sounds also like they got like a little record store kind of on site. So this one is pretty cool. This is definitely like a super local, you know, kind of place with a lot of character,
very centrally located, and a very cool kind of little hip vibe. Miguel and I love the fact that, you know, they make the coffee in this like little trailer kind of tiny house. So Cafe Con Leche, definitely on the list.
Okay, this next one is Amber's Coffee Bar. This one is over on the east side, which is awesome because I've never actually been to this one. This one Alejandro and Amanda checked out.
So I love the fact that there are still local places here for me to explore. So I didn't get eyes on this one. But according to Alejandro and Amanda, this one was really, really nice. A nice big space on the inside to hang out, chill out.
They do have some fantastic drinks. They have some different types of food items as well. I don't think they have a full menu, but pastries, bagels, things like that. And so they really enjoyed this one.
You know, it's awesome that there are these local businesses, especially after COVID, that are kind of doing strong and doing well. And so this is a fantastic find, thanks to Alejandro and Amanda. And this one actually Alejandro and Amanda went to as well.
This one I have been to actually a ton because this one is actually on the west side of town. There's our gym right there, Connective. And so this one I do get to pretty frequently. But what we all like about this one is that the atmosphere inside is super, super pleasant.
They do have a little sitting area outside, which is awesome. And they also do have some food items, more than just kind of pastries and all of that, which you can see here. But they do have food items, paninis, different things like that.
And so this one is great. In addition to this one, you know, and the awesome barista art there, this one also does serve alcohol. So wine, beer, I believe for kind of later evenings.
Now this is another one of my favorites, 210. I believe there are two locations here. There's another one closer to kind of closer to centrally central downtown near UTEP. This is the one off on the west side off of Donovan.
And so actually, we go to this one a lot. This is a great little development area. They've got a full menu. I've had the nachos.
They've got great granola. The drinks are fantastic. And again, great vibe here. This one you can bring dogs to.
They've got an outdoor seating space. And so it's great. Now a couple of runner ups here. Coffee Box is awesome.
Coffee Box is a lot of fun just because it's so epic looking. It's located right downtown. And like I said, it's it's this is a great little place. Lots of good coffee shops downtown.
And they're actually building a second one over in the far east. So that'll be pretty fantastic as well. Okay, so well, Leah and I are at Viejo Coffee. This place we love the location.
This is down in near downtown in an area called Union Plaza. This area I think is going to be awesome. It's like right before COVID it started really blowing up and then it blew down and now it's hopefully blowing up again.
But anyway, this coffee shop, it's pretty small. So this is not much of like a hangout. You're probably not going to go like, you know, do the internet and like chill out here for like a couple of hours because it's just not a lot of indoor seating.
There is an awesome like little outdoor area. So if you did bring a dog, that would probably be super cool. No food at this one. Not a huge menu.
And the coffee is they're charging a little bit more for it. So like a medium cup of coffee, like you had to do a pour over. So I think it was like maybe $4 or $4.50. So it's not going to be like the bargain place for you, but the quality is pretty good.
Location is pretty good. So this one, Viejo Coffee, definitely makes our list.
