How to Find the Best Realtor in El Paso (2026)

How do you find the best Realtor in El Paso? Look for three things: strong communication, the right balance of experience and energy, and an agent who proves their value before you ever hire them.

John Peña makes the case for what to look for in an El Paso agent. First, communication and negotiation: a real estate deal is all about reading different personalities and smoothing out pain points like an appraisal that comes in low or an inspection that goes sideways. Second, the "Goldilocks" zone of experience: enough years in the business to handle problems, but still adaptable, not a 23-year-old and not a 40-year veteran who never changed. Third, leading with value you can verify yourself by checking the YouTube channel's neighborhood and market content and reading client reviews, instead of just being told "trust me."

How to Find the Best Realtor in El Paso (2026)

What makes someone the best real estate agent in El Paso? My name is John Peña, along with my partner Alejandro Sosa, we are Peña El Paso Realty Group, and I'm gonna throw our hat into the ring for this,

and I'm gonna give you three reasons why. Number one, communication. Real estate transactions, especially between you, whether you're a buyer and a seller

and you're a real estate agent, are all about communication. This is what you want in addition to competence, right? You want good communication.

And before I was a real estate agent, I was actually a teacher. It was kind of my first career, and I feel like I was a pretty solid, pretty good teacher.

And the reason that I became a good teacher is because over time, I learned how to communicate with a diverse number of personalities.

In a classroom, I was a high school teacher, music, and in a classroom, there's a lot of different personalities in there, right? There's like the shy person

who you have to really try to get them out of their skin, and then there's the opposite of that, right? The really rambunctious person who wants to be the center of attention,

and then there's everything in between. And in real estate, trust me, you want a real estate agent who can navigate all of those different personality types.

Whether it's your personality type, you want to be able to get along with your real estate agent, or it's your real estate agent

being able to work with the other real estate agent, being to work with the title company, your lender. Communication is important. Negotiation is also important too, right?

And I learned this as a teacher because essentially negotiation is trying to get others to do what you want them to do. And negotiation is a huge part

of the real estate transaction, and if you can't work with other people, and if you can't understand and read other people, you're not going to be a very good negotiator.

And then the other thing is that problem solving is something that's also baked into teaching. And along the way of your transaction, there are going to be pain points.

I can't take those away from you, but I can definitely smooth them out, and sometimes I can eliminate them altogether, all right? These are processes typically

where you don't have any control, and things aren't always going to go your way. An appraisal might not come back in your favor. An inspection might go sideways.

You know, there's a lot of pain points that can creep up, and you need a real estate agent who can manage those for you, all right? Number two, life experience and age.

Alejandro and I have been doing this at Peña El Paso Realty Group for about six years now, all right? And I'm older, but still middle-aged,

and what I think that gets you is experience, and also, it makes you steer clear of the dinosaurs. So first off, you may not want a 23-year-old

helping you navigate the biggest financial decision of your life. At the same time, you may not necessarily want a real estate agent

who's been in this business for like 40 years and hasn't adapted at all. You don't want that. You want that Goldilocks zone,

and that's where Alejandro and I fit, right in the middle there. We have the experience, but we're also at that age

where we're excited about what we're doing, and we purpose ourselves to do it better than anybody else. The third reason is that we lead with value.

What's that saying, like wearing your heart on your sleeve? In a sense, if you hire a real estate agent, whether you know them or don't know them,

what you want from them is them to do their job and to provide you value. You don't have to trust me

that I'm gonna provide you value. You can verify this for yourself. You can go on our YouTube channel and see all of the value-add content

that we've created. When we talk about knowing this city, like boom, here's proof of it, all right, that we understand this market as well

or better than anybody. You can also go and check out our reviews, and you can see what other people have said about us.

So it's not just a trust me, I'm the best real estate agent. We can give you that proof, and we're proud about that.

So who is the top real estate agent in El Paso? It's somebody who can combine all of these attributes and provide you

with the absolute best service that you deserve. And Alejandro and myself are certainly,

we'll put ourselves right there at the top. If you have any questions, disagree, agree, by all means,

let us know in the comments, and we'll see you in the next episode.
