What is the Northeast side of El Paso like? It is a centrally located area tucked against the east side of the Franklin Mountains, close to Fort Bliss and the airport, with mostly older single-story brick ranch homes and some very affordable prices.
The Northeast is easy to get around from, with Highway 54 running south into downtown and I-10, Trans Mountain cutting west through the mountains, and Loop 375 looping out to the Far East and Horizon City. A lot of the homes here are older, single-story brick ranch homes, many built in the 1950s, with great views of the Franklin Mountains right across the street in the areas closest to the range. The video shows the kind of value the area offers, including a 3-bed, 2-bath home with a swimming pool on a cul-de-sac listed at $135,000 that sold almost immediately. Because of Fort Bliss and the nearby airport, helicopters and planes overhead are a normal part of life here.
Hi and welcome to Living in El Paso, Texas. My name is John Peña and in this video We are talking all about the northeast side of town Hi and thanks for checking out the channel, my name is John Peña I'm a real estate agent with EXP and this channel is all about El Paso, Texas
Eat, sleep, work, play and in this particular video We're gonna take a look at the northeast side of town A lot of folks are relocating to El Paso and they want to know kind of the different areas of town We've looked at the west side the east side. We've looked checked out the far east. We've looked at Horizon City
We haven't yet seen the northeast. And so that's what we're gonna do today and for a lot of the video I'm gonna kind of talk and share with you my thoughts about where we're at and then I know a lot of you really just like seeing the area and seeing the houses and so we'll just roll some music and
Let it go and then I've got a special little treat for a gentleman that reached out to me a while back this gentleman grew up in El Paso and we were kind of reminiscing and So at the very end of the video I Went and took some video of the four different houses that he grew up with
They're all in the northeast And so if you if you're interested in that by all means stick around to the end, thank you so much with that Let's jump right into it Okay, jumping right into the map here. We are on my favorite map feature
Starting to zoom out to keep those Franklin Mountains in view there They're in the middle of the screen now for bliss and the airport starting to pop up on the right hand side of the screen There's Horizon City in the far east, but in order to see the northeast We've got to obviously go a little bit north. And so here is the northeast one thing
I really like about it is that it's pretty centrally located and you can get to just about anything very quickly. So Right to the east of the Franklin Mountains running north-south is highway 54 It's just to the left of the railroad that I've outlined there And so you can take highway 54 straight south that'll take you into downtown and to interstate 10
Which you could take to the east or the west you can take Trans Mountain through the Franklin Mountains and get to the west side or you can take 375 which kind of loops around the city and that'll take you out to the far east Horizon City So that's kind of a general idea of where we're looking at the railroad does pass through there
Which I'm about to show and without further ado, let's go ahead and see a little bit of the northeast Okay, now we're on the west side of 54, going north on Magnetic, going north on Magnetic, turning left on the west Talked right up here into the mountains Alright, so now these are getting pretty nice because they're right by the Franklin Mountains, they're essentially across the street
Okay, so this is a home a little bit further north in the northeast This home was actually brought to my attention by some folks that were watching the channel and reached out wanted to make an offer but as soon as this one went on the market it was off. This home is just over 1,200 square foot, 3 bedroom, 2 bath, it's got evaporative cooling but this thing has a swimming pool in the back and it's on a nice cul-de-sac, relatively quiet road and this listed at $135,000 so pretty incredible there and since we're over here and this helicopter is going by, this is something that's a little more common on the northeast as well because you have to remember they were over by Fort Bliss as well as the airport is just south of us essentially so you know but that's kind of common for all of El Paso. So I thought this one was pretty interesting, you know, nice modest little brick home, 3 bed, 2 bath with a swimming pool on a cul-de-sac in the northeast, $135,000, pretty remarkable.
Okay, we are over at the first house of Guy's at 8821 Mount Albert. Well that's going to make it tricky and Guy said that his dad bought this home new in 1956 for $8,000. So still looks pretty good, 1956 so you know a lot of these homes are older over here on the northeast but there's one of the great things about this area is the Franklin Mountains, the east side of the Franklin Mountains are right there so you're pretty much tucked kind of pretty close into those. So pretty cool space, it's got a little alley back there, single car garage, brick homes, evaporative cooling, shingle roof composite so pretty sharp. Our first stop in Guy's home recollections here.
The second house for Guy is this one, 9836 Wormack, hope I'm saying that right. I said this area was called Dolphin Terrace, named after the school there. So to give you kind of an idea of how the neighborhood's changed, looks like folks are getting their Christmas decorations up and ready to go here. Funny to have Christmas in the desert, you know. So there's that one for us. So this was Guy's third house, if you remember, 5714 Joe Herrera.
Actually looks like that one's got updated air so that's nice on the top of the roof there. Again, get these nice views of the mountains. Pretty beautiful day here. So lots of single family, ranch, one-story brick homes.
Okay and the last one for Guy, 5417 Viceroy right here. Beautiful day, birds are chirping. And again, pretty great view of the mountains over on this side as well. Beautiful day.
