Where to Live in El Paso | West

Where can you live on the West Side of El Paso south of Interstate 10? This part of the West Side runs down toward the Rio Grande and the New Mexico border, near the Upper Valley and the outlet shops area around Prado Verde, even stretching a little into New Mexico.

Most West Side neighborhoods sit north of Interstate 10, but this spotlight heads south of I-10, into the lower-elevation areas closer to the river. The Upper Valley anchors this part of town, a beautiful, higher-price-point area with stunning homes; one buyer relocating from New York recently purchased there. The surrounding areas extend toward the New Mexico-Texas border, where the property line winds around sporadically through farm tracts of land. Near the Outlets Shops of El Paso around Prado Verde, you get a different, greener side of the West Side than the mountain neighborhoods, with some new construction mixed in among established homes.

Where to Live in El Paso | West

Hi and welcome to Living in El Paso, Texas. My name is John Peña. I'm a real estate agent with eXp, and in today's episode we're going to take a look at some more of the West Side. Hi and thank you so much for tuning into the channel. My name is John Peña. I'm a

real estate agent here in El Paso, or as I am starting to like to say, I am the ambassador for El Paso because El Paso is an unbelievable city. It's an unbelievable community of people, and in my humble opinion it's a great place to raise a family, have a career, you know, do whatever it is that that you're

passionate about doing. And so in this episode we're going to look at an area on the West Side because I do work with a lot of relocating buyers, and one of the biggest things that relocating buyers want to know is, well, like what part of town should I live in? Should I live on the East Side, on the West Side,

the Far East? There's all these different areas, and so some of the most popular videos on this channel quite honestly are, you know, where to live in El Paso. So in this video I'm going to showcase a couple of areas that you haven't seen before, and these areas are going to be primarily on the West Side, but the

kicker is that we're going to go South of Interstate 10. So far most of the properties that I've shown you, whether it's the Far East or the East Side or the West Side, have been North of Interstate 10. So on the East Side of town, North of Interstate 10, the East Side, the Far East, Horizon City. On the

West Side, North of Interstate 10, most of, quite honestly, the West Side. Kern, Cimarron Canyon area that I've shown, all of that where I live right now, I'm North of Interstate 10. Actually, Interstate 10 is probably maybe like four miles behind me. So now what we're going to do is we're going to go South of Interstate

10 on the West Side. Now I have featured and talked about the Upper Valley, and the Upper Valley is amazing. Quite honestly, I just represented a buyer who purchased a home there. I just met him actually a couple of hours ago. He's relocating from New York. He bought an absolutely stunning, unbelievably

beautiful home in the Upper Valley. Now the Upper Valley does tend to be at a little higher of a price point, but it's well worth it. The homes over there are absolutely beautiful. The areas I'm going to show you are near there, and then actually we're even going to venture into a little bit of New Mexico. So

hopefully you'll find this video interesting. If you have any questions about different locations or what area of town might work best for you and your family, please reach out to me, John at PeñaElPaso.com, and I'll put my phone number in the description. Without further ado, new parts of the West Side.

Okay, so what I'm going to do to explain this, we're going to use this fancy Google Earth 3D map here, and what you want to try to do is identify the Franklin Mountains. It says North Franklin Mountain on the right part of the screen. There's a green location pointer. Those mountains conveniently

split El Paso into the West Side and the East Side. Center of the screen now is the West Side. Now the top right-hand screen, that's all East Side. Now it's coming into view. You can see the symbol for the airport. Fort Bliss is over here. The Far East is over here. Horizon City, the Valley. Now we're starting to see, if

you can see El Paso, that's essentially where downtown is, and now we're starting to look sort of south into Ciudad Juarez and Mexico. Now the map's going to kind of come around here, and you can see what looks like farm tracts of land, which is exactly what it is. This is the area down by that New Mexico-Texas border that I

always talk about, how it's really sporadic and winds all around. So if you look now, Interstate 10 is starting to come into view in the center of the screen more or less, and it's running straight up and down the screen. Going up on Interstate 10 is actually looking south. Going down on the screen, looking

down, is heading north. So right now we're looking at the West Side. You can see the Franklin Mountains. Everything to the right is the West Side. Up where it says Northwest El Paso, that's the Old West, the traditional West. That's the West Side where I live, where the Whole Foods is. UTEP's in there, you know, Mesa Street.

There is some new construction. You can see 375 maybe is the road, Trans Mountain, where you can drive through the mountains from one side to the other. But where it says the outlet shops of El Paso, Prado Verde, Texas, that's the little area that we're going to be in. So Interstate 10 is running through the

center. Now we're essentially on the south side of Interstate 10. This is where we're going to be looking. I'm just going to let the footage roll, play some music, because most people think that what they like is just the footage of actually what it looks like in El Paso. Thanks everybody.
